What is Clean Future?

The Clean Future program is an acceleration program that aims to support the creation and development of technological solutions to improve the sustainability of cities. To this end, it intends to support startups whose solutions promote sustainability in construction, mobility and retail.

Who can apply for the program?

Startups from around the world, with less than five years of existence, with a technological solution that brings innovation and sustainability to the program categories – construction, mobility and retail.

How can I participate?

Applications take place between May and June 16th, 2024, at cleanfuture.pt.

Is participation free?

Participation in the acceleration program is completely free.

Can I apply with two different projects?

No, each candidate/team can only register with a single project.

How does the selection process work?

After the application period, there will be a pre-selection of projects so that they can make a presentation to the jury.

Of the candidates selected for the jury, up to 30 projects will be chosen to participate in the program.

In what consists the jury session?

The promoter(s)of each project must make a presentation of (maximum) 5 minutes, supported by any materials they consider most appropriate and be available to answer questions and doubts raised by the jury.

What are the jury's project selection criteria?

Project/company with an innovative and differentiating technological solution that promotes sustainability in the category for which it applied:

  • Quality of the team and its ability to implement the project

  • Feasibility of the presented idea

  • Potential impact on the category you applied for

  • Growth and/or scalability potential

When does the program take place?

The program lasts 8 weeks starting on 9 July to 2 October, 2024.

How much time does the program take?

The program operates during working hours, occupying an average of 1 working day per week.

What is the format of the program? Totally virtual?

The program will be held in different formats at different times:

  • Bootcamp – in-person format – 2 and 3 July

  • Weekly program – remote format – 9 July to 2 October

  • Demo day – in-person format – 3 October

Is there a prize at the end?

On the Demo Day, startups will have the opportunity to present the solutions developed to a jury panel, made up of recognized experts, determining the winner of each of the categories, as well as the overall winner of the program. 5 thousand euros will be awarded to the winner of each category, with the overall winner receiving an additional amount of 5 thousand euros.
